I am a Research Scientist I in the Cotrufo Soil Innovation Lab, situated in the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences at Colorado State University (CSU).
The overarching aim of my research is to develop a more complete and nuanced understanding of how to manage agricultural soils for their long-term sustainability. To that end, I have developed a broad toolkit of methods in ecosystem ecology and biogeochemistry, including measurement of soil greenhouse gas emissions, organic matter fractions, soil elements and nutrients, microbial abundance, soil carbon dynamics via isotope tracing, quantitative literature analysis, and process-based ecosystem modeling. I completed my Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences at the University of Guelph in 2020. I joined the Cotrufo Soil Innovation Lab as a USDA NIFA Postdoctoral Fellow, and my current work there is as a member of the MEMS model development team. |
